Tania Giarrizzo, Manager / Consultant - Permanent Support

Tania Giarrizzo is responsible for recruiting permanent support staff and is the Manager for our Melbourne office. Tania has 10 years experience in the recruitment industry.

Tania joined Law Staff in early 2006, with extensive experience in major account management across various industries, for roles covering office support right through to senior management. She holds a Bachelor of Business, with majors in Marketing and Human Resources from Swinburne University.

At Law Staff, Tania has been involved with the recruitment of support candidates, shared services and professional staff. The diversity of roles range from mailroom staff, corporate waiters, a temp team of paralegals for discovery projects, precedent managers, legal secretaries from entry level to senior, as well as lawyers for contract and permanent roles. In addition to legal roles, while at law Staff Tania has been involved with recruiting for the IT and Pharmaceutical industries.

Melanie Hawcroft, General Manager

Melanie Hawcroft joined Law Staff Australia in 2000 and is the General Manager of our offices nationally. She recruits permanent and contract solicitors while also being one of Sydney’s leading specialists in the recruitment of permanent support staff. The support staff roles she recruits for include managers and executives, secretaries, paralegals, senior executive assistants and shared services staff including facilities, human resources, accounts and finance, IT, office services, marketing and knowledge management positions in law firms and corporate organisations.

Melanie has a degree in Industrial Relations from the University of NSW, a Masters in Industrial Relations / Human Resources Management from the University of Sydney (with Merit) and is a Member of the Australian Human Resources Institute.

Melanie has in depth knowledge of the workings of the Sydney legal profession and an extensive network of contacts established over her many years with Law Staff. She has many years' experience in the development and rollout of workplace change and training programs and also worked as an in-house legal secretary for a large multinational engineering firm in London.

With a strong understanding of the complex interrelationships that exist in an organisation, Melanie is able to quickly match candidates to the right role and vice versa. Through strong working relationships with clients and candidates alike, and her honest, ethical and service oriented approach, Melanie ensures a thorough and hassle free experience throughout the recruitment process.

Rosie Mamic, Acting Manager/Senior Consultant - Professional and Permanent Support

Rosie Mamic joined Law Staff in October 2006 and specialises in the recruitment of both Solicitors and Support Staff for law firms and corporations. Rosie also heads up Law Partners in Melbourne, a premium service designed to connect prospective partners with high-quality law firms.

Rosie has been working within the legal sector for 16 years having worked at a boutique law firm as a Legal Secretary/Clerk and prior to joining Law Staff, she spent 7 years with the HR team of one of Melbourne’s premier law firms, where she gained a solid understanding of Human Resources and in-depth knowledge of every aspect of recruitment within the legal profession.

Rosie is passionate about legal recruitment and since joining Law Staff, has successfully placed lawyers from first year level to Partner level, along with support staff. With a broad private law firm and corporate client base to work with and extensive referral networks and contacts within the legal sector, Rosie has proven that client maintenance and relationship development is the key to becoming a successful legal recruiter.

Kelly Tangney, Consultant - Temporary & Permanent Support

Kelly Tangney joined Law Staff Australia in May 2007 as a consultant specialising in the recruitment of temporary and permanent support staff. Kelly has a Bachelor of Business Studies majoring in Human Resources from Massey University in New Zealand.

Prior to working within the Melbourne generalist recruitment market, Kelly spent 3 years in London, working with leading professional services firms as an HR generalist.

Kelly’s generalist recruitment background enabled her to work across a variety of industries and she has recruited across all levels of an organisation, building invaluable experience to apply to the specialised legal market. Kelly places great value on the relationships she develops with her clients and her candidates, enabling her to understand their requirements and therefore identify ideal working relationships between them.

Amy Brook, Consultant

Amy Brook specialises in the recruitment of permanent support staff. Amy has 3 years experience in the recruitment industry and holds a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Human Resource Management and Marketing from the University of Tasmania.
Amy recruits a broad range of roles including legal secretaries, paralegals and shared services staff at all levels and across all areas of a law firm, assisted by her previous broad recruitment background focused on recruiting positions for the education profession and within business support across many industries.

Ensuring that she meets the needs of both her clients and candidates alike is Amy's priority and she achieves this by forming honest and open working relationships.

This along with Amy’s genuine honesty and commitment, will ensure that anyone she works with will receive the best possible service available in the market.

Margaret Heath, Director

Margaret Heath, our Australian Director, has 20 years experience in legal and executive recruitment, management and training roles. She has experience in all levels of recruitment from the most junior to senior roles. Prior to forming the companies Law Staff and Legal & Corporate Staff in 1994, Margaret was Personnel Manager for one of Australia’s largest law firms and in more recent times has added Law Partners and Law Temps to the Law Staff and Legal & Corporate Staff brand.
