The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for a Defendant Insurance Lawyer to join the highly regarded Casualty team in Brisbane.

Working closely with two respected Partners and supported by a well-resourced team of more than 15 lawyers, paralegals and administrative staff, you will gain exposure to a broad and interesting portfolio of liability matters acting for major insurers and corporate self-insured clients.

Your work will include:
  • Public liability
  • Product liability
  • Personal injury defence
  • Property damage disputes
  • Indemnity disputes
  • Catastrophic injury claims
Importantly, this team does not handle institutional or historical abuse matters, making it one of the few defendant insurance teams in Brisbane where lawyers can focus entirely on broader casualty and liability work.

You will be encouraged to take genuine carriage of matters with appropriate Partner support while continuing to develop your technical skills, client management capability and long-term career progression.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
  • 1+ years’ PAE within defendant insurance or liability
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A practical, commercial and proactive approach
  • Lawyers currently working in historical abuse matters who are looking to transition into broader casualty and liability work are strongly encouraged to apply!
