As part of a national Construction Projects & Disputes team, you will work alongside highly regarded Partners and Senior Lawyers across multiple offices, gaining exposure to a broad range of clients, industries and complex matters.
Your work will include:
- Advising on high-value construction and infrastructure disputes across major projects in resources, energy, transport and property development
- Acting in Supreme Court and Federal Court proceedings, as well as domestic and international arbitrations
- Managing significant claims involving delay, disruption, variations, defects and extensions of time
- Advising on project delivery issues in real time, including strategic guidance on risk management, claims preservation and dispute avoidance
- Representing clients in alternative dispute resolution processes, including mediations, expert determinations and negotiated outcomes
- Advising on security of payment matters and contractor/principal disputes across multiple jurisdictions
- Advising on construction-related insurance matters, including defective design and high-value indemnity claims
- Supporting clients in navigating regulatory and compliance issues, including emerging risks relating to building defects and cladding matters
We are seeking a lawyer with:
- 4+ years' PAE in construction, projects, infrastructure disputes or related litigation
- Recently promoted Senior Associate, or approachingSA level, with a desire to continue developing your technical expertise, client relationships and leadership skills
- Experience across project disputes, claims management and dispute resolution
- Strong drafting, analytical and commercial skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- A genuine interest in developing your practice and taking ownership of matters
