You’ll join a market-leading Public Sector team, working closely with a highly regarded Partner on some of the State’s most complex and high-profile government infrastructure matters, including projects tied to the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate or experienced Associate to join a highly regarded Public Sector practice in Brisbane.
In this role, you’ll work across a unique blend of advisory and disputes work, including:
- Advising government agencies on project planning, corridor acquisition, and land access matters
- Acting on compensation claims under relevant legislation and assisting with Land Court proceedings
- Drafting agreements, court documents, and providing strategic advice on complex infrastructure issues
- Attending mediations, court hearings, and working closely with counsel and expert witnesses.
The work will see you collaborating with a range of specialists including valuers, planners, engineers and economists, while also working closely with other practice groups to deliver holistic solutions to public sector clients.
You’ll gain exposure to major projects that genuinely shape communities, including:
- Transport and infrastructure projects connected to the Brisbane 2032 Olympics
- Large-scale corridor acquisitions and compensation matters
- Major government-led infrastructure developments across Queensland
- Complex, multi-stakeholder projects involving public sector bodies at all levels.
About You
We’re seeking a Senior Associate (or 4-5+ PAE lawyer) with experience in planning and acquisition, property, litigation, or government work. Exposure to compulsory acquisition, infrastructure projects, or Land Court matters will be highly regarded but is not essential.
You will bring:
- Strong drafting and technical skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- A collaborative and commercial mindset
- A genuine interest in working on complex public sector and infrastructure matters.
