THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a standout opportunity for a senior property lawyer to step into a Special Counsel position within a high-performing Brisbane Property practice at a leading mid-tier national firm.

Working closely with a Partner recognised as a Leading Queensland Property & Real Estate Lawyer in Doyle’s Guide and listed in Best Lawyers Australia for Real Property Law, you will advise major residential developers and landowners across acquisitions, developments and disposals.

The team is known for delivering on Queensland’s largest residential and mixed-use projects, including masterplanned communities and large-scale subdivision developments involving thousands of lots. You will also gain exposure to complex, high-value transactions, joint venture structures and sophisticated development arrangements.

As a key member of a collaborative and nationally connected team, you will contribute to the continued growth of the practice while playing a senior leadership role in mentoring junior lawyers and delivering exceptional client outcomes.

DAY TO DAY YOU’LL BE
  • Advising on large-scale residential land acquisitions and development site sales
  • Drafting and negotiating easements, covenants, management agreements and acquisition documentation
  • Managing due diligence processes, including property search reporting
  • Overseeing plan registrations and development structuring
  • Supervising, mentoring and developing junior lawyers
  • Acting as a senior point of contact for key developer and landowner clients
  • Collaborating across a national platform to deliver integrated property solutions.
ABOUT YOU
You are an experienced property lawyer ready to step into a senior, leadership-focused role with strong client exposure.

You will bring:
  • 7+ years’ PAE in property law, ideally with residential development experience
  • Strong experience in Queensland property law 
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage complex, end-to-end transactions
  • Strong leadership capability and interest in mentoring junior lawyers
  • A commercial mindset and passion for high-value development work.
