We’re looking for a motivated Senior Tax Lawyer to work across a broad range of tax matters. You’ll gain hands-on experience assisting clients with practical advice, managing disputes with the Australian Tax Office (ATO) and Queensland Revenue Office (QRO), and contributing to commercial transactions. Your work will be recognised and rewarded, with career progression encouraged under the mentorship of senior specialists.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Advising on GST, tax, and revenue matters
- Objecting to ATO and QRO assessments for tax and penalties
- Assisting clients with ATO and QRO audits, reviews, and compliance matters
- Preparing direct and indirect tax sharing agreements, employee share schemes, facility agreements, and agreements with service entities
- Managing appeals of ATO and QRO decisions in the AAT, QCAT, Federal Court, and Supreme Court
- Drafting and reviewing commercial transaction documents, including share sale agreements, company constitutions, and trust deeds
- Supporting commercial transactions by ensuring tax-efficient structuring and compliance
- Learning from senior specialists and providing guidance to junior team members.
- Minimum 3+ years PAE in Tax Law
- Strong technical foundation and genuine interest in tax law
- Outstanding drafting, verbal, and written communication skills
- Keen eye for detail with consistently high-quality work
