A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced Workplace and Safety Lawyer to join its Brisbane team.

The practice sits within a specialist insurance and risk environment, advising on employment, industrial relations and WHS matters across Australia and internationally. It is recognised for its technical expertise, commercial approach and strong market relationships, acting on complex, high-value matters. You will join a close-knit team within a broader national platform with strong cross-jurisdictional collaboration.

What You’ll Do
You’ll work across a broad range of workplace and safety matters, including:
  • WHS incident response, investigations and prosecutions, including regulatory engagement
  • Employment litigation including unfair dismissal and general protections claims
  • Discrimination, sexual harassment and workplace bullying matters
  • Industrial relations matters, including enterprise bargaining
  • Workplace and regulatory investigations
  • Advisory work on disciplinary processes, performance management and organisational change
  • Direct client engagement and advocacy across advisory and contentious matters.
Why Join
This role offers a strong combination of flexibility, high-quality work and long-term career development within a supportive national platform.

You will benefit from:
  • Genuine flexibility, including hybrid working with minimal mandated office attendance
  • Autonomy and flexible working arrangements, allowing you to structure your day around your workload and client needs
  • “Dress for your day” policy, reflecting a modern and practical workplace culture
  • Competitive remuneration, with above-market positioning and performance-linked incentives
  • Clear and supported career progression pathways to Special Counsel and Partnership
  • Exposure to high-quality, complex matters across leading insurer, corporate and public sector clients
  • Strong mentorship and supervision, with access to experienced practitioners and dedicated career support
  • Structured learning and development, including formal training programs, CPD support, mentoring and cross-border collaboration opportunities
  • Financial support for further study and external training, including subsidies and study leave
  • Comprehensive wellbeing support, including confidential counselling, resilience tools and access to mental health and trauma-informed support where required
  • Paid volunteering and community leave, supporting involvement in pro bono and community initiatives
  • Regular social and networking opportunities, including firm-wide events and team engagement activities
  • A modern performance culture, focused on continuous feedback and development rather than annual reviews.
Who We’re Looking For
  • 4+ years’ PAE in employment, industrial relations or WHS
  • Strong experience managing complex investigations, disputes and advisory matters, including advocacy experience
  • Ability to manage matters autonomously and engage directly with clients
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
