This is a dynamic and resourceful national firm with a reputable Employment, Industrial Relations & Safety practice group. With a client focus, this close-knit team provides specialist experience across a wide range of quality matters, while maintaining exceptional work-life balance together with a positive and supportive work environment.
The current team of 6 specialist workplace lawyers is over-utilised in terms of work volume, team mentoring, and client relationship management demands. To ensure they continue to maintain that high standard as well as provide that work-life balance to all (including Partners) the firm is keen to appoint a talented Workplace Relations Lawyer. This will either be someone currently at Partner Level or Special Counsel level.
It needs to be said that there is a sustained need for an additional Partner in the Team and this particular position has been earmarked for a rapid elevation to Partnership within 12-18 months.
This position will see you involved in front end Workplace Relations advice as well as back end Employment and Industrial Relations matters. Should you have the interest and aptitude then exposure to WH&S work (both front and back end) is there for the taking. An example of the wide variety of work includes but is not limited to:
- drafting and advising on employment agreements and contracts;
- drafting and advising on enterprise agreements;
- general protection issues including unfair dismissal proceedings and unlawful terminations, discrimination, workplace harassment, and bullying claims;
- workplace health and safety risk management advice as well as prosecution defence work; and
- restraint of trade issues.
Remuneration is negotiable $230K to $300K depending on the seniority and profile of the individual. This firm also understands the concept of family and that lawyers also need work-life balance ... true balance, despite their position and the level of responsibility held. Parental responsibilities are therefore readily accommodated.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL
You will be an experienced Workplace Relations Lawyer looking to progress your career within the Workplace Relations discipline and will need to possess a high level of commercial acumen, strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
