A prestigious national mid-tier law firm is seeking a skilled legal assistant to support a high-performing Property, Planning, and Development practice group. Based in Brisbane, this full-time, permanent role offers the opportunity to work on iconic projects and contribute to a team of legal professionals, including Partners and Special Counsel. This role is ideal for a career legal assistant or a motivated 1st-year law student eager to advance their career in a collaborative environment.
  
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with a variety of administrative tasks, including managing correspondence, legal documents, and filings
  • Drafting and formatting legal documents, adhering to precedents and firm standards
  • Supporting billing processes, managing fee estimates, and ensuring time entries are accurate
  • Coordinating schedules, arranging meetings, and handling travel arrangements
  • Liaising with clients and stakeholders, while maintaining high levels of confidentiality
  • Acting as a gatekeeper for the national practice group leader, managing emails and diary efficiently
  • Supporting the team with presentations, seminars, and events
  • Assisting with conveyancing tasks, including e-lodgements via PEXA and ordering property searches 
Key Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a legal assistant or in a similar role supporting Partners or senior lawyers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of discretion, with a proven ability to manage confidential information
  • Experience with billing software (Aderant experience highly regarded)
  • Conveyancing experience and proficiency with PEXA would be beneficial but not essential
