THE ROLE:

Strategic and well-conceived growth of 10-15% is being rolled out for each of their offices which is underpinned by the sustained need for additional resources to service increasing client demand in key areas of practice.

This particular role is for their Canberra Office and will work closely with a Partner who specialises in International Commerce Law. This is a Partner who is lauded as one of the best technical advisers in this space globally, and has also been recognised by various peer reviews and prestigious legal publications.

The role will suit a General Commercial and Business Lawyer of 2-4 years PAE who has a genuine interest in International Commerce Law. Whilst practical experience in Commercial Law would be well-regarded, the quality of your foundation skills will be advanced and honed through strong mentoring program.
  
Working in the International Commerce Team will see you exposed to cross-border and international issues including but not limited to:
  • regulatory advice and compliance;
  • safeguard measures and quarantine;
  • international product control and tariffs;
  • advising on government policies and procedures;
  • subsidies and countervailing issues;
  • investment approvals across multiple countries and jurisdictions;
  • international business transactions - establishment of the relevant entity, financing arrangements to commercial contracting and international dispute resolution.
In this role you will work with clients such as major Australian companies and NGOs, large multinationals, foreign exporters and foreign governments and their agencies.
