The Firm & Strategic Direction

Law Staff is partnering directly with the National Board of a high-performing national practice to accelerate Brisbane expansion. The firm is widely regarded for technical excellence across core practice areas and for long-standing relationships with blue-chip corporates, mid-caps, and State/Commonwealth agencies.

Partners and lawyers are recognised for commercial acuity, clear communication, and disciplined matter management against tight timelines. Queensland revenue already exceeds $50m, and the Board is now selectively deepening 5 of 14 national industry verticals.

Focus Areas — What You May Lead

Resources (traditional & critical minerals):
  • Project development and financing
  • Complex commercial agreements (exploration, production, O&M, infrastructure access, commodity sale/marketing)
  • Joint ventures, acquisitions/divestments
  • Corporate advisory across the project lifecycle
Renewable Energy & Transition:
  • Development, financing and property for wind, solar, pumped hydro and battery storage
  • Due diligence; options to lease/purchase; leases and ground leases; financier deeds to FC
  • Sale/purchase of pipeline and ancillary infrastructure; tenure/statutory rights; procurement contracts; general corporate advisory
You’ll nurture key client relationships, mentor rising talent, and play a visible role in the practice’s market presence.

Your Background
  • Current Partner or ascending Special Counsel from a mid-tier or top-tier setting
  • Portable relationships and a reputation for high-quality Energy & Resources work (traditional and/or renewables)
  • Confident leader with a collaborative style and a disciplined approach to business development

Remuneration
Compensation aligns with your profile and portable client relationships.
  • Salaried Partner: $350,000 – $550,000+
  • Equity Partner (mid-point): from $1.2M
  • Top equity (100 points): well above $4M, driven by Control Fees
