Law Staff is partnering with the National Board of a high-performing firm to execute its Brisbane growth strategy. The practice is recognised for technical excellence across key disciplines and a premium client roster spanning blue-chip corporates, mid-caps, and major State and Commonwealth agencies.
Partners and lawyers are known for commercial acumen, crisp communication, and running complex transactions to tight timelines. In Queensland the firm has an established $50m+ fee base and is now deepening 5 of 14 verticals as part of a targeted expansion.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Lateral Partner (or an exceptional Senior Counsel ready for elevation) in:

Resources (Energy & Resources)
  • Project development and financing
  • Complex agreements: exploration, production, operating/management, infrastructure, commodity sale & marketing
  • Joint ventures, acquisitions and divestments
  • Corporate advisory
Renewable Energy
  • Development, financing and property elements of wind, pumped hydro, solar, battery storage
  • Due diligence; options to lease/ground leases/leases; options to purchase; financier deeds; management to financial close
  • Contracts of sale for pipeline and ancillary infrastructure; pipeline tenure and statutory rights
  • Procurement negotiation and general corporate advisory
You’ll manage and grow key client relationships while mentoring a high-performing team.

About You
  • Established profile in Energy & Resources and/or Renewables (mid or top-tier background ideal)
  • Confidence to transition and retain client relationships
  • Leadership capability with a collaborative, commercial approach

Remuneration reflects your practice profile and portable relationships:
  • Salaried Partner: $350k–$550k+
  • Mid-point Equity Partner: $1.2m+
  • 100-point Equity Partners: $4m+ (based on Control Fees)
