Situated in inner-city Brisbane, this prominent organisation in Australia’s food and hospitality industry is expanding its operations and seeking a Legal Counsel to join it’s vibrant legal team on a permanent basis.
Reporting and working closely with the General Counsel, the Legal Counsel will handle a variety of legal matters and support the organisation on numerous exciting projects!
Key responsibilities include but is not limited to:
- Handling leasing and franchising transactions
- Providing advice on compliance issues, transactions, agreements, and intellectual property
- Representing the company in legal proceeding (disputes/defending claims)
- Drafting legal documents, including applications, breach notices and formal correspondence
- Interpreting legislation and regulations, offering strategic guidance to ensure compliance
- Assisting in creating and delivering training and development programs
To be successful, you will have:
- 3+ years as a Lawyer in property (leasing), commercial (franchising), and dispute resolution (preferred, but not mandatory)
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to apply your legal skills to new challenges
- Ability to build relationships quickly and negotiate with stakeholders, both internal and external
- Current eligibility to practice law in Australia, particularly in Queensland
- Possession of a current legal practising certificate
