THE WORK MIX
Your work mix will include high scale  litigation, Insolvency, bankruptcy and recovery matters matters in the District, Supreme and High Courts throughout Queensland and other States. This will include:
  • Commercial litigation such as a claims for breach of contract, breach of financial services laws, breach of the Australian Consumer Law, unconscionability, negligence and fraud.
  • Identifying, preserving and recovering assets for secured and unsecured creditors
  • Responding to investigations and enforcement action by ASIC and other corporate regulator
  • Disputes, including those concerning the priority of securities, mortgage fraud, cheque conversion claims and professional negligence claims
  • Advising major banks in relation to distressed loans, insolvency, restructuring and enforcement action
  • Reviewing and settling default notices, demands, pleadings and general correspondence; preparing pleadings; carriage of defended claims; conducting research; and attending Court

THE CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have:
  • a minimum 2 years PAE (applications considered up to Associate level);
  • Commercial Litigation, insolvency or recovery experience from a recognised firm;
  • An ability to draft clear and commercially-oriented advice; and
  • Be a genuine team player.
