In this role, you will have the opportunity to rebuild and grow the QLD practice. This includes bringing in junior lawyers and leveraging existing support staff, such as paralegals, legal secretaries, and graduates.
The position is suitable for candidates aiming for a Special Counsel role with progression to partnership, as well as ambitious Senior Associates seeking a leadership role.
You will work across the full spectrum of employment and workplace law, including:
- Employment and HR advisory matters
- Industrial relations strategy
- Unfair dismissal, discrimination, harassment, and workplace health and safety matters
- Employment-related litigation and Employment Practices Liability (EPL) insurance claims

To be considered for Special Counsel level, you will have more than 10 years’ post-admission experience specialising in a broad range of Workplace Relations matters and be seeking to assume a leadership role. You will have a proven ability to build and manage a team, grow a practice, and maintain strong client relationships. An entrepreneurial mindset and a genuine interest in shaping and leading a practice is essential. Experience working with government clients and handling Employment Practices Liability (EPL) insurance matters will be highly regarded.
