This permanent role based in Brisbane CBD, is ideal for an experienced legal professional ready to take on complex and high-impact Native Title and resources law matters at an SO level (Special Counsel)

Responsibilities include:
- Providing expert legal advice on the Native Title Act, Indigenous Land Use Agreements, cultural heritage agreements, and resources law.
- Managing complex litigation, mediation, and negotiation for native title determination applications in the Federal Court.
- Representing the government in compensation applications, cultural heritage cases, and other high-stakes matters.
- Offering guidance to junior lawyers, contributing to team and client service objectives, and supporting senior leadership when required.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Admission as a legal practitioner in Queensland with substantial experience in Native Title law.
- Proven ability to deliver high-level advice on the Native Title Act 1993, Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2003, and related legislation.
- Excellent communication skills, including advanced drafting and negotiation abilities.
- A collaborative approach and a commitment to providing exceptional client service.
