This is a lateral appointment into one of Australia's most financially successful national law firms. With an eye firmly on future growth, the firm is looking to expand its Brisbane-based partnership and is actively seeking a Corporate Partner or Special Counsel ready to step up.
This firm has consistently delivered equity partner earnings of $3.5M+ per 100-point partner over the past 10 years - a testament to its commercial success and collaborative culture.

Known for its dynamic and collaborative leadership, the partnership is in expansion mode, targeting a 20–30% growth in its Queensland partner ranks within the next 12 months.
Its Corporate team services premium clients and is led by highly regarded Partners across Australia, offering strategic support and exceptional infrastructure to enable ongoing success.
  

The Role

The firm is seeking a senior lawyer with 10–25 years’ PAE and a strong background in corporate transactions. You will work in tandem with leading Corporate Partners across the national practice and play a central role in leading matters, mentoring junior lawyers, and further building client relationships. You will ideally bring experience across:
  • Mergers & Acquisitions – regulated and off-market.
  • Equity Capital Markets – including ASX compliance.
  • Joint Ventures & Corporate Advisory.
  • Backdoor Listings and Structuring.
  • Corporations Act governance and compliance.
Expertise in all areas isn’t essential, but you should be comfortable operating across most of these fields.

  
What We're Looking For

You’re likely to bring:
  • 10–25 years of post-admission experience, with much of this in Brisbane.
  • Time spent in a leading M&A boutique, mid-tier, or national practice.
  • A recognised profile in the corporate legal community.
  • Strong interpersonal and business development skills.
  • Confidence in managing clients and guiding a team.
As a Special Counsel, you should ideally lay claim to a practice of $800K+ in fees. For a move into Equity, your existing practice or team should generate $1.6M+ annually.
