PROMINENT FIRM

Our client is one of the more dynamic and respected practices of this decade and has a very high profile in the commercial litigation and international arbitration space.

Led by former top-tier Partners, this firm offers a resourceful and cohesive environment that sets it apart from larger traditional practices by streamlining operations and avoiding unnecessary politics. Known for handling quality matters, and with their focus on efficiency and effectiveness, they are able to prioritise the delivery of high-quality legal services without the internal challenges that can arise.

By fostering a culture of collaboration, they create a more conducive work environment for their team members, underpinned by high standard of personal and corporate values, and actively contributing to the community.

CORPORATE DISPUTE RESOLUTION

The firm operates both nationally and internationally, with a particular focus on the resources and technology sectors. The Partners have the trust of a plethora of clients at Board and C Suite level, and their appetite is strong yet cautious. The firm's solutions are always underpinned by best-practice technical advice, yet the conduit for achieving the objective can be based on innovative big-picture strategies across the spectrum including but not limited to:
  • Corporations Act Disputes;
  • High value Contract Disputes, particularly resources related;
  • Partnership and Shareholder disputes;
  • Construction Litigation;
  • International Arbitration;
  • Consumer Law;
  • Intellectual Property and Technology Disputes; and
  • Real Estate Litigation.
PARTNER OR SPECIAL COUNSEL LEVEL

The CDR team has strategic growth plans and can cater for an additional Partner (or Special Counsel looking to step up to Partner level) should he/she have specialist skills in key verticals such as Construction Litigation, Corporate Insolvency, or Employment Law.

To be considered for this role, you should have a minimum of 10 years PAE in dispute resolution, have the ability to run complex matters with strategic insight, and possess a strong understanding of the rules governing the relevant Act or Acts in your area of speciality.

Should you wish to be considered at the Partner level, then befitting this level of appointment will be an expectation your industry and client profile will be strong and relative to your financial expectations.

This is an excellent opportunity to benefit from the support and resources provided by the rest of the Litigation Team. You can operate with complete autonomy yet know there is strategic collaboration and support there if you need it.

REWARDS

This opportunity boasts a very attractive package. There is also a high degree of flexibility in your hours, allowing for better work-life balance. Many of the firm's current lawyers enjoy the option of working from home a few days per week, which will also be readily available for this new position.

As it relates to your team, career progression within the firm is based on merit rather than strictly following a hierarchical structure. This 'flat structure' ensures that increased responsibility and promotion are granted based on individual achievements and capabilities, rather than simply tenure in the role. This provides a unique opportunity for motivated professionals to advance their careers at a faster pace and be rewarded for their contributions.
