A highly regarded, large Brisbane CBD law firm is seeking a talented Associate or Senior Associate to join their in-demand defendant insurance team. This role is open to defendant lawyers with 3+ years’ PAE, as well as plaintiff lawyers with 5+ years’ PAE who are looking to transition into defendant work. You’ll have the chance to manage your own caseload while benefiting from guidance and mentorship from three award-winning Partners.


About the Role
You’ll join a dynamic team handling a diverse range of insurance matters, including:
  • Defendant workers’ compensation cases for leading institutions, including WorkCover and self-insured employers
  • Opportunities to expand into public liability matters
  • Direct collaboration with senior partners on high-profile matters
  • Working alongside a supportive team of paralegals and administrative staff to focus on delivering outstanding outcomes
  • Ownership of files from start to finish, gaining exposure to complex and rewarding work
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
  • Has at least 3 years’ PAE
  • Has experience in workers’ compensation and/or public liability matters
  • Possesses strong technical, drafting, and problem-solving skills
  • Is solutions-focused with excellent client service and communication skills
  • Can work independently and collaboratively in a close-knit team
Plaintiff lawyers with 5+ years’ experience interested in transitioning to defendant work are encouraged to apply as full training will be provided.
