This is a growth role for a Senior Associate (5+ PQE) based in Brisbane, joining a nationally dispersed Employment & Industrial Relations team with colleagues situated in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
The practice advises on sensitive, high-profile, and complex employment, industrial relations, and workplace health & safety matters, including enterprise bargaining strategy, workplace investigations, whistleblower matters, and crisis response. Acting for major corporates, multinational clients, and government entities, the team delivers strategic, commercially-focused advice across advisory work, disputes and corporate transactions.
Responsibilities include:
- Advising on industrial relations, employment disputes, and enterprise agreements
- Managing unfair dismissal, general protections, and other employment claims
- Conducting workplace investigations and provide strategic, risk-based advice
- Drafting and negotiating contracts, policies, and employee-related documents
- Supporting corporate transactions, restructures, and outsourcing from an employment perspective
- Advising on executive employment, post-employment restraints, and compliance issues
- Appearing before the Fair Work Commission and assisting on Federal/State Court matters
- Delivering workplace learning, management training, and WHS incident response guidance.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years’ PQE in employment and industrial relations law
- Experience in private practice, government, or advisory firms
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to deliver pragmatic advice
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A collaborative, proactive, and energetic approach to work.
