What is the role:
This unique opportunity combines both front-end advisory and back-end litigation work, offering a diverse and engaging legal practice.
As a strategic legal advisor, you'll provide expert guidance on workers' compensation matters while managing litigation strategies, overseeing complex claims, and ensuring optimal legal outcomes. Your role will be pivotal in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective solutions and enhance legal processes.
Beyond claims management, you'll contribute to significant advisory and commercial work, including:
- Negotiating and drafting multi-million dollar contracts
- Providing counsel on administrative law, statutory interpretation, and privacy matters
- Mentoring junior team members as part of your leadership responsibilities
- Deliver strategic, timely legal advice to support business objectives and mitigate risk
- Foster strong relationships with external legal providers
- Develop and present legal education programs to build organisational capability
- Analyse legislative changes and emerging legal trends to inform business strategy
- Lead and contribute to strategic initiatives that drive business success
Who is suitable:
- 5+ Years PAE
- Admitted as a Lawyer in QLD
- Experience defending Personal Injuries claims and working on Workers Compensation matters
- Strong knowledge of statutory and common law claims processes
- Generalist front-end skills in contracts, statutory interpretation, and procurement and administrative law is also needed.
- You must also be a confident communicator and able to simplify legal concepts for non-lawyers
- Plus have the ability to manage strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
