THE OPPORTUNITY

You will join a well-resourced Brisbane team working on complex, multi-jurisdictional tax matters with direct access to senior practitioners and commercial clients. There is a strong focus on front-end advisory work and structuring, with the opportunity to broaden into related areas over time.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing strategic tax advice across income tax, GST, payroll tax, land tax and stamp duty
  • Advising on trust structuring, trust deeds, and associated private client matters
  • Contributing to commercial and transactional matters with tax implications
  • Working directly with clients and managing components of matters independently
  • Supporting the development of junior lawyers and assisting with technical queries
ABOUT YOU
This role will suit a motivated emerging tax practitioner with:
  • Minimum 3 years’ PAE in tax or related commercial practice areas
  • Experience in income tax and/or state taxes or a desire to develop in these areas
  • Strong analytical capability and commercial mindset
  • A genuine interest in tax and structuring work
  • Broader exposure to areas such as M&A, property, commercial transactions or tax litigation (advantageous but not essential)
This is an ideal platform for an ambitious lawyer seeking to deepen their tax expertise while remaining connected to broader corporate and commercial workstreams.
